Man shot in leg

Police are investigating after a man was shot in Stretford.

Shortly after 2am on Sunday 16 August 2015, police were called to Mossvale Road, Stretford to reports that a man had been shot.

Officers attended and found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life threatening.

The investigation is at an early stage and enquiries are on-going.

Detective Sergeant Andy Darnton of GMP’s Trafford Division said: “I understand incidents like this can cause a lot of concern in the community but I want to assure everybody that a thorough investigation has now been launched.

“In the meantime we have increased patrols in the area and if anybody has any concerns or information then I would urge them to please speak to one of our officers on patrol or contact police.”
